Split and collaboration between Kate Slauter and CONSUMER.

This album was created as the result of an indeterminate experiment and game in which both artists repeatedly overdubbed sounds on top of 8 different sampled loops. After each 'pass' the sample would be removed leaving only the overdubbed sounds. This process was repeated a total of 64 times, each artist making four passes on each loop. The stems from each session were then shared and freely repurposed, digitally manipulated, and reshaped into the songs you hear on this album. The 'sample trains' compile all the recording passes on each loop into one continuous train. Both sides of the tape contain sounds and manipulated stems from each artist, and you will hear certain sounds, melodies, or rhythms repeating throughout--but used in very different ways.
